Gene Larry Briles

Gene "Papa" Larry Briles on December 8, 2022, in his home. Gathering at Viegut Funeral Home at 1616 North Lincoln Avenue, Loveland, Colorado on January 6th from 11am to 1pm. Military honors will begin at approximately 11:30am. In the spring Mr. Briles will be buried in the family plot outside Leroy, Kansas, next to his father, Max and brother, Wayne. Gene was born in 1947 to Max and Mildred Briles in San Bernardino, California on March 15th. Veteran of the US Army, he married Hazel Jean Piatt in September of 1967, which later ended in divorce in November 1989. He was survived by his two children Becky and Eric, his grandchildren Hope and Domenic, and his mother, Mildred and sister, Diana.

Andrea Kay Briles Willis

Andrea Kay Briles Willis, age 72 of Asheboro passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2022 at Moses Cone Hospital. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 1:00-1:45 pm at Sunset Avenue Church of God, 900 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. Funeral services will follow on Thursday at 2:00 pm at Sunset Avenue Church of God with Pastor Boyd Byerly officiating. Burial will be held in Oaklawn Cemetery. Mrs. Willis was born in Randolph County on December 8, 1949 to Joseph and Mozelle Lucas Briles. In addition to her parents, Andrea was preceded in death by her husband, Richard "Rich" Willis. She is survived by her brother, Don Briles (Cathy) of Trinity; step children, Melissa Willis of Greensboro, Jessie Willis of Mooresville, Tim Willis (Lisa) of High Point, and Amanda Willis (Adam Fongemin) of Greensboro; 3 step grandchildren; and many loving cousins and close friends.

Douglas Clifford Briles

Douglas Clifford "Doug" Briles, age 51 of Woodridge, passed away on September 22, 2022. A visitation will be held at St. Scholastica Parish, 7800 Janes Ave. in Woodridge on Friday, October 7, beginning at 9:30am with a funeral mass at 10am. Private family internment will be at a later date. Mr. Briles is the son of Clifford and the late Florence Ruchalski Briles. Surviving: his wife Aimee Cardamone Briles; son, Tyler; brother of Erin (Chris) Wagner and Cara (Jeff) Zwieschowski; son-in-law of Dr. Joseph and Stephanie "Stevie" Cardamone; brother-in-law of Joe (Melissa), Jim (Kristine) and Tom (Amy) Cardamone; uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Lawrence Dee Briles, Jr

Lawrence Dee Briles, Jr., age 90, of Bainbridge, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2022. The memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Tallahassee National Cemetery with Reverend Dewitt Phillips officiating. Larry was born January 30, 1932 in Marion, Indiana the son of Lawrence D. Briles, Sr. and Virginia Ellen Briles. Survivors include his wife, Dolores Briles; daughters, Julie Hawkins (Bill) of Mount Vernon, OH and Amy Briles of Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren, Michael Grosh and Danielle Wilkinson (Michael); great-grandson, Freddy; sister, Beverly Parks; and numerous nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Elizabeth Briles.

Greyson Lee Royal Briles

Greyson Lee Royal Briles of Omaha, Nebraska passed away on May 7, 2022. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 14th 2022 at 1:00 PM at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home and Crematory. Born born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on April 29, 2022, he was predeceased by his grandmother Karen Biles of Omaha, NE. He is survived by : his parents, Madison Robe and Nathanial Briles; his grandparents, Megan Robe and Howard Briles; and his aunts and uncles, Keegan Robe, Bentleigh Robe, Jessica Strong (Russ), Emily Briles and Kyle Strong (Alexandra).

Charles William Briles Jr.

Charles William Briles, Jr., 94, of Archdale, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2022, at his home. Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at Randolph Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Elton Wilburn officiating. Born August 28, 1927, in Randolph County, he was a son of the late Charles W. Briles and the late Mary Brown Briles. Charles is survived by his sons, Dr. Charles Briles, III and wife Dr. Aleta Briles of Arizona, and Rev. Mickey Briles and wife Deana of Archdale; brother, Darrell Briles and wife Lovetta of Sophia; sister, Eva Jay Farlow of Florida; and grandchildren, Colton Briles and Caroline Briles. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Smith Briles.

Rusaline "Rusty" Briles Cassidy

Rusaline "Rusty" Briles Cassidy, 83, of Trinity, passed away Friday, April 8, 2022, at Hospice Home at High Point. Graveside services will be conducted at 12:00 PM Friday, April 15, 2022, at Holly Hill Memorial Park with Rev. Tony Moore officiating. Born August 18, 1938, in Davidson County, she was a daughter of the late Russell Briles and the late Zola Summey Briles. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Buddy" Cassisdy, grandson, Russell Marshburn; brothers, Lee Briles and Marion Briles, sister, and Imogene Briles. She is survived by her daughter, Pam Marshburn and husband Jamey of Trinity, granddaughter, Chelley Sonner, and great-granddaughter, Kayleigh Sonner.

James "Jim" Edwin Briles

James "Jim" Edwin Briles passed away on April 3, 2022 with his family by his side. A Celebration of Life Service for Jim is pending. Born January 8, 1934 in Bell California to Emmett James and Mary Martin Briles. United States Army Veteran. Preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Mary Briles; and brother, Bill Briles. Left to cherish many years of precious memories are his wife of 54 years; Marilyn Briles; daughters, Sharon Burgess and husband Jack, Donna Vanwestrienen and husband Darreld, Patricia Holland and husband Patrick; sons, Earl Riley and wife Olivia, and Carl Riley and wife Kim; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.

Kenneth Lee "Ken" Briles

Kenneth (Ken) Lee Briles of Grand Prairie, Texas, passed away at the age of 81 on Friday, March 4, 2022. Memorial Service: 10 a.m., Saturday, March 19, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, Texas. The family will be there to welcome friends and relatives. Interment: 11:30 a.m., Thursday, March 24, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Kenneth was born on October 21, 1940, in Francesville, Indiana, to Guy Fredrick Briles and Opal May Swihart Briles. Veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Opal Briles, and his brothers, Dale and Bernie Briles. He is survived by his wife, Vickie Vance Briles; daughters, Pamela Boschetti, Janet Linehan and husband, Jeff; Kolleen Dominguez and husband, Eddie; sons, Kevin Briles and wife, Samantha; Dan Briles and wife, Karen; stepdaughter, Clarissa Lagow and husband Scott; sister, Linda Austin; grandchildren, Keela, Kynna, Mariah, Brahne, Lauren, Sianna, Kyle, Grayson, Abby, Alyssa and Kameron; and great-grandchildren, Kyan, Nicholas and Mia.

Beverly Jean Briles Etzel

Beverly Jean Etzel (Briles) was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Oct. 7, 1934. She passed away on Saturday March 5, 2022, in her home surrounded by family. Services: 1p.m. Friday March 11, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, where a visitation will begin at noon until service time. Pastor David Wagner will officiate. Burial will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Etzel; her son, Gary Dean Etzel; son-in-law, Brian J. Denny; parents, Ralph and Bertha Briles; and her brother, Ralph Briles Jr. She was married to the love of her life, Robert G. Etzel, on July 3, 1959. She is survived by her son, Steve Etzel (Teresa); her daughters, Kim Etzel (John), Janine Wagner (Dave) and Maureen Denny; her grandchildren, Robert Diehl, Amy Kurt (Dylan), Gabe Etzel, Courtney Denny, Grace Ulmer (Kenan), Addison Maldonado and Noah Etzel; and two great-grandchildren, plus one on the way.

Julian Briles Passes

Julian Floren Briles, age 66, passed away on February 8, 2022 in Conroe, Texas. Addison Funeral Home in Spring, Texas is in charge of the arrangements. Burial will be in Houston National Cemetery. Mr. Briles is the son of Robert Nathan and Barbara Blount Briles.

Bruce O. Briles Jr.

Bruce O. Briles Jr., 67, of Anderson, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road in Noblesville, with Pastor Robert Watson officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Summit Lawn Cemetery in Westfield. He was born on September 23, 1954 to Bruce, Sr. and Lena Mae (Bailey) Briles in Tucson, Arizona. He is survived by his partner of 12 years, Renay Edwards. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Martin Lee Briles

Martin Lee Briles, age 65, of Eagle Point, Oregon passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022. Martin was born December 15, 1956, in Portsmouth, VA the son of the late Owen E. Briles Jr. and Aiko Sasukura Briles. He leaves behind his mother, two sisters, Helen Cook and Judy McCulloch, a daughter, Katina Honda (Kevin), two greatly loved grandchildren Nyah and Zentaro, two nephews, and two nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, Owen. Per his wishes, there will be no service. A private interment will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Park at a later date.

MSGT Ronald Lee "Top" Briles

Ronald (Top) Lee Briles, Sr., MSGT, United States Marine Corps (Retired), 77, of Weems, Virginia passed away January 11, 2022. Family will receive friends 3-5 p. m. Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock, VA. Services will be held at Quantico National Cemetery at a later date. Born February 9, 1944 in Des Moines, Iowa to the late Arthur D. Briles and Pauline Whisner Briles. Preceded in death by his brother, Roger D. Briles of IA. He is survived by his wife, Ola Mae Smith Briles; sons, Ronald L. Briles, Jr. (Tracey) of SC; Jeremy Briles (Lindsey) of AZ; daughter, Lisa Briles of AZ; six grandchildren, Lindsay and Ronnie Briles of VA, Faith and Jazmyne Briles of AZ; Cameron and Dexter Wehrung of AZ; four great grandchildren, Brayden and Allison Briles of VA, Daniel Briles and Renner Woolery of AZ; two brothers, Robert Briles (Reaha) and Richard Briles (Mary Lou) of IA. He was known as Papa to all of his grandchildren and was loved by many nieces and nephews.

William R. Briles

William R. Briles, 68, Marion, passed away at 4:42 pm on Monday, January 10, 2022, at St. Vincent Heart Center of Indianapolis. At William's request, there will be no public visitation or funeral service. He was born in Fowlerton, Indiana, on Monday, May 11, 1953, to William and Marianne (Morris) Briles. On June 4, 1996, he married Mary Hogue, who survives. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Karen Mullenix; and brother, Christopher Briles. William is survived by his wife, Mary; son, Travis (Courtney) Briles of Afton, TN; daughter, Maryann (Edward) Pace of Marion; grandsons, Jacob, Jayden, Grant, Porter, and one on the way; brother-in-law, Richard Mullenix; and sisters, Wanda (Mike) Daughtery, Jill (Mike) Gray, and Pamela Lighthall.

Roberta Adell Briles Crawford

Roberta Adell Briles Crawford passed away at Sunrise of Lenexa in Lenexa, Kansas on January 9, 2022. Born June 20, 1930 in Buffalo, Kansas, she was the daughter of Edward Osmund and Pauline (Mentzer) Briles. Roberta has been cremated. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. Roberta was preceded in death by her husband in 2006, infant son, Duane Crawford in 1953 and her siblings.Roberta married Eugene David Crawford on June 9, 1951 in Emporia. Roberta is survived by her three children: Marcia (Mike) Philbrick of Seneca, David (Kathy) Crawford of Blue Rapids, and Terry (Tina) Crawford of Shawnee; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Karen L. Briles Mullenix

Karen L. Mullenix, 74, Fowlerton, passed away at 4:27 pm on Monday, January 3, 2022, at Marion General Hospital in Marion. The family will receive visitors from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at New Hope Baptist Church, 800 E. S. C. St., Gas City, IN. Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Karen's life will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Curtis Rhoadarmer officiating. Burial will take place at Marion National Cemetery. She was born in Marion, Indiana, on Tuesday, November 4, 1947, to William and Marianne (Morris) Briles. On June 12, 1970, she married Richard H. Mullenix and he survives. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Chris Briles. Survivors include her husband, Richard H. Mullenix of Fowlerton; daughter, Lori Mullenix; son, Kelly (Jennifer) Mullenix; grandchildren, Derek (Samantha) Barksdale, Haley Mullenix, Kiler Mullenix, Zachary Spence, Summer Spence, Lilianna Mullenix; great-grandchildren, Jonathon and Adrienne; siblings, Pamela Lighthall of Merrit Island, FL, Wanda (Mike) Daugherty, Bill (Mary) Briles, Jill (Mike) Gray; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
