Mildred Daphine Briles

Mildred Daphine Larrabee, 92, of Ellsworth and formerly of River Falls, died on Thursday, July 30, 2009, at the Ellsworth Care Center. Mildred was born on Sept. 24, 1916, in Webster City, Iowa, the daughter of George and Hallie (Arbogast) Briles. She married Willard Larrabee on June 14, 1936. Mildred was a 32-year employee of Smead Mfg. in River Falls.Mildred loved spoiling her grandkids who were the center of her life. She was a member of the River Falls United Methodist Church. Mildred is survived by her son, Larry (Myrna) Larrabee of Ellsworth; four grandchildren: Lori (Will) Smith of Menomonie, Debbie (Scott) Feuerhelm of Ellsworth, Allan (John Fetzenburger) Larrabee of St. Paul, and Jason (Kristi) Larrabee of New Market, N.H.; five great-grandchildren: Analicia Frandrup, Tiffany Feuerhelm, Shawn Frandrup, Brandon Frandrup and Brady Feuerhelm; sisters-in-law: Mary Briles of River Falls and Delores Briles of Hudson. er husband, Willard; parents; and four brothers preceded her in death.
A funeral service for Mildred was held on Monday, Aug. 3, at the River Falls United Methodist Church; the Rev. Janet Ellinger officiated. Burial was at Greenwood Cemetery.


Samuel Marion Briles

Obituary: Samule M. Briles, 68, died suddenly Aug 1, 1987, at his home in Mounds View Apartments. He was born Aug 23, 1918 in Jack Creek, Iowa, t he son of George and Hallie (Arbogast) Briles. His family moved to the River Falls area when he was a child. He was a 1938 graduate of River Falls. In July 1941, he entered the U.S. Army and served during World W ar II in the Medical Corps in Germany. He was discharged in July 1945. I n December 1941, he married Arlene Dean. They had five children: Dani el, Janice, Samuel P., Russell and Scott. He farmed in the River Falls a rea from 1945 to 1952. His family then moved to Minneapolis where he w as employed at Bachman's Florist in Minneapolis. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and three brothers: Ralph, Kenneth and Donald. Survivors include his stepmother, Daphne Briles of St. Paul; sister Mildred Larrabee of River Falls, his children Daniel of Bloomington, J anice Michelson of PriorLake, Samuel P. of Minneapolis, Russell and Sco tt of Savage; six grandchildren: Stephanie, Jason, Andy and Linda Bril es; Vickie and Joel Michelson; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation w as held Aug. 3 at Cashman Mortuary. Services were held Aug. 4 at Cashm an Mortuary with Dr. Delbert Permann officiating. Interment was in For t Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Paullbearers were his son s Daniel, Russell, Samuel P. and Scott Briles; son-in-law Garland Miche lson; and nephews Michael Briles and Larry Larrabee.
