John Elmer Wilbanks

The list of attendees at the August 4, 1974 Briles Family Reunion at the Legion Hall in Italy, Texas, includes the following members of the Willbanks family:

Mr. and Mrs Roy Willbanks of Fort Worth and their children Roy Jr., Deborah, and Richard D.
Johnny R. Willbanks, son of Roy, of Fort Worth
Mr. and Mrs. A. E. (Buddy) Willbanks, his wife Effie, and their children Lida Carol, Cynthia L, Leaila, Cherly L. and Donna R.

This list ends with the notation "(Lou's 2 sons and family)", which probably means that the first name of the Willbanks who married Mary Louise Briles was "Lou." Thus, his first name above is given as "Lou" rather than "Unknown."

Mattie Emily Briles

Mattie and Patrick were twins. Briles family informant doesn't think she had any children.

A visit to the Italy Cemetery, Italy, Ellis Co., TX, on April 26, 2007, confirmed the birth year above and confirmed and death year for Mattie Emily Briles provided above. Her headstone's inscription follows:

Patrick Henry Briles

Patrick and Mattie were twins. He and his family were living in Waxahachie, Ellis County, Texas (103 Aldridge) as of the August 4, 1974 Briles Family Reunion held in Italy, Texas. The list of their children at that reunion was Jerry (below), Pat (not below), Jan (below) and Kurt (below).

In a letter from Winona Briles Brown (daughter of Patrick's Uncle Wilbur) to Sara Briles Moriarty dated July 20, 1982, Winona reports that both Pat and her his wife were at a Briles Family Reunion that took place in Italy, Texas, earlier that month, so they both still alive as of that date. In that letter, Winona also reports that he and his wife had the two sons and daughter listed below and that they were also at the reunion.

In a letter from Winona to Sara dated Decmeber 1983, Winona says that, as of that date, Pat and his wife were living in Waxahachie, Ellis County, Texas.

Elnora Briles

The list of attendees at the August 4, 1974 Briles Family Reunion at the Legion Hall in Italy, Texas, gives her full name as Elnora (Briles) Poarch and gives her husband's first name as Grover. The list also includes the child and grandchildren provided below.

In a letter from Winona Briles Brown (daughter of Elnora's Uncle Wilbur) to Sara Briles Moriarty dated July 20, 1982, Winona reports that Elnora was at a Briles Family Reunion that took place in Italy, Texas, earlier that month, so she was still alive as of that date.

In a letter from Winona to Sara dated Decmeber 1983, Winona says that, as of that date, Elnora was living in Italy, Ellis County, Texas.

Walter E. ("Bud" & "Buddie") Briles

The list of attendees at the August 4, 1974 Briles Family Reunion at the Legion Hall in Italy, Texas, gives his wife's first name as Geraldine and lists only one child, the Kaye provided below.

The orignal Briles genealogy information cited throughout these files gives his birth year as 1913 and his birth location as Italy, Ellis County, Texas. However, the 6 January 1914 birth date given by the Social Security Death Index is used above. His SS Card # is 456-18-7725; it was issued in Texas.
