Roy W. Crotts, 88, of Trinity, died Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at the home of his son following three months of declining health Born April 23, 1921, in Randolph County, he was the son of the late William Thomas and Roanna Loflin Crotts. He was a member of Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church and was retired from Myrtle Desk. On December 4, 1944, he married the former Rachel Osborne who preceded him in death on May 4, 2007. He was also preceded in death by a son, Garry W. Crotts, and 11 brothers and sisters Survivors include his son, Michael Crotts and wife, Kathy of Sophia; four grandchildren, Derick Crotts and wife, Kasey, Shanda Vickers and husband, Kevin, Chad Crotts and wife, Paige, and Brandon Crotts; six great grandchildren, Seth and Ian Vickers, Emery and Maddie Crotts, and Kenyon and Cohen Crotts; and a brother, Reece Crotts of Archdale
Funeral will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Beverly E. Gaska. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday night from 7 until 8:30 at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale

The records of the Social Security Administration include a George Briles who was bon on Jan. 15, 1905 in Texas and who died in June 1969 in Rule, Haskell County, Texas.
