On 12 January 1806 David Crotts signed as a witness the will of Daniel
Burkhart.
According to the 1850 Census of Hardin County, Tennessee David's oldest
son Valentine was born about 1806 in North Carolina. His son Lewis was
born about 1809 in Kentucky. His son Joseph was born about 1812 in
Tennessee. Therefore David Must have left North Carolina for Kentucky
between 1806 and 1809 and then moved to Tennessee between1809 and 1812.
David and his wife Polly apparently died prior to October 1823leaving
his children orphaned.
Daughter of Jacob Kratz. Listed in Pilgrim Reform Church records as
CatharinaBarbarah Kratz. Witness at her baptism were Michael Lohnhard
and his wife Cahtarina.
Birth Listed in Pilgrim Reform Church records. Witness at baptism were
Vallentin Dag and his wife Eva.
Valentine's daughter Sarah was born in Rowan County,NC in 1803. His
daughters Emiline and Dicey were born in Anderson County, Tennessee in
1806 and 1808. His son David was born in Pierce, Indiana in 1810.
Therefore Valentine moved from NC to Tennessee sometime between 1803 and
1806 and then moved to Indiana between 1808 and 1810.
Age on the 1850 census ofWashington County, Indiana is 69.
